Ukrainian defence technology company Buntar Aerospace has raised $16 million in a new funding round to expand production, develop autonomous defence technology and enter international markets. The round was led by Freedom Fund and an international growth equity investor, with participation from Gardar, Iron Wolf and Autonomy Capital. The investment brings Buntar Aerospace’s total capital raised to $30 million.
The company will use the new funding to increase manufacturing capacity for its Buntar-3 reconnaissance drone and continue developing Buntar Copilot, its knowledge-based AI platform for drone warfare. The products are already used by frontline units across Ukraine, forming the company’s core commercial base.
Buntar Aerospace also plans to recruit engineering, management and operations talent while bringing additional teams and technologies into its platform. Beyond its existing Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance focus, the company plans to develop dual-use products and expand into international markets.
Co-founder Bohdan Sas said Buntar is targeting missions including reconnaissance, counter-drone defence and precision strike assistance. The company also sees opportunities to adapt its autonomous technology for civilian applications, positioning Buntar Aerospace as a broader multi-domain defence autonomy company.
